Access to the
forest for horses is controlled by NRW. All riders require the
purchase of an annual or a monthly permit which is only available
via Pembrey Conservation Trust. All the funds collected
from the permits are reinvested by the volunteers in the maintenance of
the 35km access network within the forest and its important habitats.
The trust works
to support NRW in the management of their 2,700 acre woodland here at
Pembrey. Pembrey Forest and Penybedd Woods are owned
by NRW. They are not leased nor managed by Carmarthenshire County Council
and neither are they a part of the neighbouring Pembrey Country Park.
