Volunteering Opportunities

All our volunteers are highly valued. We help develop skills/experience in forestry and habitat management and grassland machinery operation. Subject to available funding we support the volunteers to achieve nationally recognised certification (LANTRA or NPTC routes). Health and safety is a key component of our operations.

Seasonal work activity - help us maintain our picnic areas and our plant/tree nursery to increase the fruiting and flowering species within the woods.

We have vacancies for help in the following areas:

Administration - help us look after our paperwork and general day-to-day enquiries

Work team - help us to maintain habitat and access routes, working in small teams around the forest

Workshop – help us out by recycling timber to produce habitat boxes and other saleable items to help raise funds for the trust

Tractor driving – a lot of our work involves machinery and if you have experience or feel confident to give it a go, give us a call

Forest checks – if you are a keen user of the forest, help us out by surveying the trails and relaying any issues to the work teams

Penybedd maintenance – help us out by looking after our office and curtilage with a bit of painting and tidying up
